MindMap

Terms of use

The plain rules.

Using MindMap (the website, the browser extension or the apps) means you agree to these. Updated October 2026.

Who can use it

Students and instructors 13 or older. Keep your sign-in to yourself; you're responsible for what happens in your account.

MindMap helps you learn; it doesn't do graded work

MindMap explains, quizzes and plans. It won't complete assignments, quizzes or tests for you, and while an instructor has an assessment open it teaches the ideas, not the answers. Follow your school's academic integrity rules and each class's AI policy. If a class doesn't allow AI on its work, set it to Concepts only on the class's About tab. The extension only reads your courses; it never submits, posts or messages anything.

Your content

Files, notes and photos you add stay yours. You let MindMap store and process them only to run the service for you (reading them, building your study packs, answering your questions). Only add material you're allowed to use: your own class files are fine; don't upload paid textbooks or other people's private work.

AI can be wrong

Study packs and answers are written by a model and checked by code, but they can still contain mistakes. Your instructor and your class materials come first. Don't rely on MindMap for medical, legal or safety decisions.

Fair use of the service

Don't break, overload or get around the service's limits or security, read other people's data, or use it to harass anyone. Accounts that do may be suspended.

The service

MindMap is free and offered as it is, without guarantees that it will always be available or error-free. Features may change. To the extent the law allows, whoever runs MindMap isn't liable for lost grades, data or time from using it; keep your own copies of anything important (the privacy center exports everything).

Ending

You can stop any time and delete everything in the privacy center. We may close accounts that break these terms, and will tell you first when we can.

Changes and questions

If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app first. Questions: see Support. How we handle your data: Privacy policy.
